What led me to hypnotherapy?

I worked as a prison officer for 18 and a half years, dealing with young offenders and adults, and throughout this time I have come across many mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, confidence issues, bullying, suicidal thoughts, family issues, disabilities, physical illnesses, to name but a few.  I was also part of the Care Team which is a group of volunteers who look after the staff when there has been a serious incident, or if a member of staff is having personal issues and needs support.  This gave me the initial training based on the same as the Samaritans receive, including listening skills, and confidentiality.

For 20 years I’d always wanted to be a counsellor, but when researching counselling courses, I felt there was ‘something’ missing, I found this ‘something’ in clinical hypnotherapy.  It sparked my interest in the way it can help people in a completely different dimension.  I found it fascinating, to say the least, and felt compelled to work in this area to help people.

Imagine waking up every morning feeling like you can take on the world. How great would that feel?  I opened the doors of my practice to clients in Leicester, Leicestershire, and surrounding areas originally, offering a hypnotherapy service to guide them through life’s challenges and most trying times.  And in 2020 I also started to offer hypnotherapy to anywhere in the world using zoom or skype and offering online sessions, especially through the pandemic of COVID-19.

I’ve now worked with hundreds of clients, ranging in all sorts of problems, and all sorts of ages, but I specialise in the more ‘mental health’ side of therapy, PTSD, trauma, grief, anxiety and depression, I also love phobia’s too!  Anything to do with fear I love helping people with.

Life can get difficult, and sometimes a little help from a professional Hypnotherapist can make things better. I care about your well-being and will provide you with all the tools you need in order to seize the day.

And now I get to do the career full time, and train other people to help people overcome their issues.  If you feel you have the urge to help other people, contact me, and we can discuss how to go about this.
